Inspiration Not Required

Below is an example of a poem I wrote which I've never posted anywhere (I have an account in Poetry Free-for-All).  I wrote it in a sketch pad around eight months ago when I was still stressed and paranoid about the board exams.

I should definitely start writing poems again.  I used to write poems while having coffee with friends.  I would sometimes end up with two considerably lengthy poems in one night and my friends would write their own poems too and we would read our poems to each other.  I remember I read somewhere that once upon a time drinking coffee was outlawed because coffee stimulates radical thought.  Well I guess coffee also makes you more creative and prolific and considering that the demand for coffee exponentially increased during the last two centuries, at the same time that great advancements in knowledge and technology were made, it might be accurate to say that coffee played a key role in accelerating human progress.

Now here we go with the poem.

Inspiration Not Required

Quantum, spit your futurist lusts for ribs and skins
Glowing and collapsing glassy truths, filmic
animosities, the proportions haunt Saint Who
I feel not French yesteryear, beginning.

Permutations, all men, all old and stinky
molesters of frothy ideals, blue to black
Abdomens speak to me but I ignore them
like every drip and trip and the in-betweens.

You two, compare then fight to death, climate-
altering mediocrity, intensity depolarized
Laughability index, you just missed my eye
Rhythmics kill time before the next visionary.

Let me explain a bit about the title.  I wrote this poem during a time when I was especially uninspired to write a poem.  So I basically forced myself to write it.  Thus, my lack of inspiration became my inspiration.

I'll be posting some of my other old poems and I'll also be posting my new poems once I start writing again.
